The conference proceedings for the 2022 26th International Conference Information Visualization (IV) are now available at IEEE Xplore. The head of our research group, Professor Dr. Kawa Nazemi, is the general co-chair of the conference held in Vienna last year. In addition, the research group presented two full papers Visual Analytics for Systematic Reviews According to PRISMA and Visual Collaboration – An Approach for Visual Analytical Collaborative Research, available through IEEE Xplore Digital Library. The International Conference Information Visualisation is one of the premier conferences on information visualization, visual analytics, and visual knowledge discovery, founded in 1999.

We get the opportunity to give some insights to “Visual Text Analytics for Technology and Innovation Management”, based on our core Trend Analytics technology Scitics, on the OpenRheinMain Conference. We want to give insights on how Visual Analytics techniques can be used to enable effective technology and innovation management on behalf of external/web data as well as internal/company data.
The OpenRheinMain (ORM 2019) is the 1st edition of an annual IT conference on open source and emerging digital technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, Open-Source, Intelligent Automation and DevOps, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things. The purpose of the conference is to interlink researchers and industrial partner of the Rhein Main region. Therefore, the conference considers stakeholders from both in an appropriate proportion. The conference will take place on September 13th, 2019 at Darmstadt University of Applied Science.
Due to heterogeneity of the event participants, the chances are high to strengthen the cooperation with local enterprises. We expect, that this will be relevant for further research actions to strengthen the local region.

The event “Information Science Trends: Search Engines and Information Retrieval”, organized and hosted by the European Chapter of the Association for Information Science and Technology, focuses on certain research topics introduced by invited speeches from research and industry. The major covered research areas are:
Retrieval research on web search engines, web services, professional information services, social media
Information seeking behavior
Information retrieval
Discovery systems
People interacting with search systems
Searching in the library and other scientific contexts
Understanding user behavior
Additionally, they will provide networking space to energetically share ideas and interests from the fields of information science and related disciplines.
At this event Prof. Dr. Nazemi gives a speech on “Visual Trend Analytics in Digital Libraries”, in particular, based on the experiences with the own developed Scitics solution. Here he gives an overview about current research actions and challenges toward visual trend analysis, but also on opportunities and benefits for companies. In particular, the digitalization challenges a number of small and medium-sized enterprises to be aware of modern technologies and trends that revolute the market or impacts the current businesses
The event takes places on April 26, 2019, at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg, Germany. More information about the event can be found on the event website or on the organizers website.
