We are involved in several teaching activities at different universities, whereas the main teaching is performed at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Our teaching activities folllow the paradigms of research-beased learning and problem-based learning. Research-based learning leads to cutting-edge knowledge about current research activities and empowers our students to understand and apply the newest researcht activities in the areas of information visualization, Visual Analytics, data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction.

Problem-based learning enables our students to develop and apply technologies to solve either given problems or problems that arise from our research activities. The main goal here is to enable students solving real-world problems by applying different techniques, methods and approaches and learn by solving the problems. Both approches are commonly mixed to apply research outcomes from constuctivism learning theory.

We teach at the following universities:

Darmstadt University
TU Darmstadt

We provide different teaching opportunities. The lectures consist of a combination of presentation and exercises to a specific topic. In seminars you will get briefed into a topic the students have to elaborate a specific topic under supervision. Similar to seminars, but with a strong focus on praxis are the practical courses or rather projects, where the students have to work out a (technical/development) solution on a given problem. At the end of a bachelor or master study, students have to work out a thesis in behalf of a given research question.
