Simon Heiß is a Researcher in the Human-Computer Interaction and Visual Analytics research group at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da). His work focuses on developing interactive decision-support systems, AI-driven visual analytics, and knowledge-based solutions to enhance decision-making in complex domains.
He holds a Master’s degree in Information Science from h_da, where his thesis examined decision-support systems for analyzing global social media news for political stakeholders. Simon began his academic journey in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science at h_da, graduating in 2022.
Throughout his academic and professional career, he has gained extensive experience in developing web-based interactive visualization systems, knowledge graphs, and semantic technologies. He has contributed as a Junior Software Engineer and Student Researcher to several interdisciplinary projects that integrate machine learning, visual analytics, and structured data models to address real-world challenges in areas such as sustainable development and knowledge management.
His research interests include visual analytics, artificial intelligence, decision-support systems, semantic web technologies, and data visualization. Simon is committed to designing intuitive, data-driven systems that empower decision-makers and support interdisciplinary collaboration.
