Uliana Eliseeva is a researcher in the research group on Human-Computer Interaction and Visual Analytics (Faculty of Media) of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. After graduating from NUST MISiS (Moscow) in 2019 with a Bachelor degree in Linguistics and Teaching, she taught English to technical students at her home university until moving to Germany in November 2020 to pursue a career as software developer. She obtained a M.Sc. degree from Saarland University in the field of Language Science and Technology with the thesis Perception of Formant Discrepancies in German Words and Non-words which aimed at improving the quality of Text-to-Speech synthesis systems. In parallel, she worked as a student NLP (Natural Language Processing) developer in a financial news analytics company and later as a research assistant in a project concerned with AI-based classification of scientific publications in the area of NLP.
Currently, she is working in an EU financed project FARMWISE with a focus on water management and informed policy making in agriculture and implements machine learning and a visual analytics framework. Combining experience from diverse background, she is open to collaboration in the field of AI that aim to bring together people and technology.
